Volunteers
As AYSO is a volunteer based non-profit organization, we rely on the great parents within our community to help us make the program run. We always need more parent volunteers to help out - on the board and just in general (if you are not sure you want to make a commitment past a single job or two). If you are interested in volunteering, please respond to this email and let us know. We appreciate EVERYONE"S contributions towards making our organization great!

For the Fall Season, parent involvement is mandatory!!
For Divisions 10U and up, teams will acquire volunteer points based upon game refereeing, field set up, field lining etc. Volunteer points will determine each team's ability to qualify for the postseason regional tournament. This is a VERY big deal that Conny (our Coach Administrator) will emphasize to all coaches at the start of the season. It is VERY disappointing for the children when they are not allowed to participate in the postseason tourney due to a lack of volunteer ship.
10U and above - Please Note the following:
In the event your child’s team has a winning season and wants to continue on at the AYSO Area Tournament, your team must have two referees who have acquired referee points during the season and who are available to referee at the tournament (Nov. 16 & 17, 2023). Referees eligible to acquire referee point must also be certified by attending a Referee Training, which is hosted by our Region's Referee Administrator Philip Bagley.
This is required because our region is required to send two referees per team to volunteer at the tournament. This means that at least two adults (preferably not the coach - they are already volunteering their time) from every team should volunteer to take the referee training and be willing to assist in refereeing games during the season. This does not mean that those parents have to take the lead center referee position, or that they have to spend all day at the soccer field on Saturdays, it simply means that they are willing to help officiate games, even just as an Assistant Referee (the referee who holds the flag on the side of the field)
As the season approaches, we will host at least one referee training in Ojai. These dates/times are currently TBD so stay tuned.
